Modernization and Optimization of the producing, transporting and distributing system technogical steam in Suplac

The scope of the project was to propose and analyze process options in order to select the optimum solution for modernizing the existing steam generating, transmission and distribution system within Field Cluster Suplac (FC Suplac). To this goal, the Feasibility Study included the following activities:

  • Review of the existing steam sources and the facilities they require (water supply, fuels, power, steam transport and distribution networks)
  • Analysis of some technical scenarios for covering the needs of technological steam for varied situations proposed by Client PETROM due to the extraction technologies and based on the EU regulations (regarding production, environment, safety and health principles)
  • The Feasibility Study for developing the solution approved by PETROM for modernization and optimization of the system for producing, transporting and distribution technological steam in FC Suplac;
  • Duty Books for main equipment bid (steam boilers, gas turbines, HRSG)
  • Duty Books for erection-construction works
  • Documentation for Permits

The Feasibility Study has included the main works and technical-economical information for new works, capital costs and operational costs in order to comply with the economical and social requirements generated by the utilization process of steam in the oilfield region of Suplacu de Barcau, thus to improve the generating efficiency, transport and distribution of steam.

Centrala de cogenerare cu ciclu combinat de 860 MW Brazi

Centrala de cogenerare de 860MWe de la Petrobrazi a fost proiectat? conform standardelor în vigoare pentru ciclurile combinate ?i este alc?tuit? din dou? grupuri de cogenerare de circa 310 MWe fiecare (turbin? cu gaze tip PG 9371FB ?i cazan recuperator de abur f?r? ardere suplimentar?) ?i o turbin? cu abur de circa 305 MWe cu condensator de suprafa??.Centrala este proiectat? pentru o durat? de via?? de 20 de ani.Energia produs?, cu costuri reduse ?i randamente ridicate, va acoperi în primul rând necesit??iile societ??ii OMV Petrom S.A., iar surplusul va fi vândut pe pia?a liberalizat? de energie.

Num?rul de ore de func?ionare anual? estimate este de 8.000 ore, cu un randament global in regim de cogenerare maxima de 65,26 %, ?i o disponibilitate anual? total? de aproximativ 92%.
Combustibilul utilizat în centrala de cogenerare este gazul natural.Evacuarea gazelor de ardere provenite de la cele dou? grupuri de cogenerare (turbine cu gaze ?i cazane recuperatoare) se realizeaz? prin intermediul co?urilor de fum individuale ale cazanelor recuperatoare, cu în?l?imea fizic? de 70 m.

Pentru pornirea centralei ?i pentru serviciile proprii, atunci când nu func?ioneaz? instala?iile de baz? ale centralei, este prev?zut un cazan auxiliar de abur.
Evacuarea energiei electrice produse se realizeaz? prin sta?ia Brazi Vest aflat? la circa 2,5 km distan??.Centrala se caracterizeaz? prin flexibilitatea în func?ionare, având în vedere timpul de pornire mic (jum?tate fa?? de o centrala electric? conven?ional?), cât ?i viteza mare de cre?tere a energiei electrice produse. Astfel, centrala de la Brazi poate reac?iona intr-un termen foarte scurt pentru a contribui la realizarea echilibrului produc?ie – consum în Sistemul Energetic Na?ional (SEN).

Centrala va contribui semnificativ la pia?a reglementat? de electricitate prin furnizarea, anual, a unei cantit??i de pân? la 1,8 TWh in profil banda. Autoriza?ia de Construire pentru noua central? are num?rul 23 si a fost ob?inut? la data de 05 Februarie 2009.La 1 August 2012 centrala a început opera?iunile comerciale. La 16 Octombrie 2012 a avut loc inaugurarea oficial? a centralei.

  • Etapa II: Elaborare Proiect pentru ob?inerea Autoriza?iei de Construire (PAC) ?i Documenta?ie pentru ob?inerea avizului PSI si Scenariul de siguran?? la foc
  • Etapa III: Elaborare documenta?ie de Basic design pentru lucr?rile de construc?ii civile (rezistent?, arhitectur?, instala?ii interioare aferente construc?iilor, lucr?ri de amenajare teren, drumuri si platforme, re?ele de conducte subterane)
  • Etapa IV: Documenta?ie de Execu?ie pentru lucr?rile de construc?ii civile

Combined-cycle Cogeneration Power Plant rated 860 MWe in Brazi

Cogeneration Power Plant rated 860MWEe in Petrobrazi is designed according to the standards in force for combined-cycles and is comprised of two cogeneration units rated about 310 MWE each (gas turbine type PG 9371FB and steam recovery boiler without additional combustion) and a steam turbine rated about 305 MWE with surface condenser.

The power plant is designed for 20 years lifecycle.The power produced, with low costs and significant efficiency, will supply primarily the necessities of Petrom company and the excess will be sold on the energy free market.

The annual operation hours will be 8.000 h, with global efficiency in maximum cogeneration regime of 65,26 % and a total annual availability of approximately 92%.
The fuel used in the cogeneration power plant is natural gas.

The flue gases exhaustion coming from the two cogeneration units (gas turbines and recovery boilers) will be made through individual stacks of 70 meters high. For power plant start-up and auxiliary services, when the plant base installations do not operate, there has been provided an auxiliary steam boiler. The power evacuation to the power grid will be made through Brazi station located at about 2,5 km of the plant.

The power plant is flexible in operation, with a short start-up (half the time needed for a conventional power plant) and also a high speed of increasing the produced electric power. Thus the Brazi power plant can react in a very short time in order to balance power producing – consumption in the National Power Grid. The power will significally contribute to the power market by supplying annualy 1,8 TWh.

The Construction Permit for the new power plant is no. 23 and has been obtained on 5th of February 2009. On the 1st of August 2012 was the commisioning date. The official inauguration of the power plant was on 16th of October 2012.

The project signed by ISPE and Greek Company METKA has been structured in four stages:

  • Stage I: Elaboration of documentation for Permits
  • Stage II: Elaboration of Project for Construction Permit (PAC) and for Firefighting Permit
  • Stage III: Elaboration of documentation for Basic Design for Civil works, Architecture, Indoor Installation, site preparation for the civil works, roads and platforms, underground piping networks
  • Stage IV: Execution Works for civil works
