ISPE involvement in CCS - CO2 Capture and Storage

On the first of July 2009 ISPE, represented by Mrs. Carmencita Constantin, Environment and Energy Division director, attended ZEP (Zero Emission Fossil Fuel Power Plants) Advisory Council meeting, in Brussels.

The Advisory Council, where Mrs. Carmencita Constantin is member, steers and monitors the EU Zero Emission Fossil Fuel Power Plants Technology Platform. Romania is also represented within ZEP Government Group by Mr. Constantin Sava, president CO2 CLUB Romania.

Romania is preparing itself for the development of the legislative background and financial support of CCS projects, thus ISPE being deeply involved in EU-ETS studies and projects.

Combined-cycle CHPP rated 860MW – Brazi, Prahova county

Cogeneration Power Plant rated 860MWe in Petrobrazi is designed by ISPE according to the standards in force for combined-cycles and is comprised of two cogeneration units rated about 310 MWe each and a steam turbine rated about 305 MWe with surface condenser.

Reconstruction of Cogeneration Plant PETROTEL – LUKOIL

ISPE was the general designer for the reconstruction project of CHPP – S.C. PETRETEL – LUKOIL S.A. The investment was necessary to assure the power and heat consumption of the petrochemical platform Lukoil – Teleajen.

Braila TPP - 800MW new power unit

ISPE together with ERM is the Romanian consulting company of E.ON Kraftwerke for the development of the project for a new unit of 800 MW.
