The "Carbon, Capture and Storage – 2020" round table gathered international participants

The Ministry for Economy, Trade and the Business Environment together with WEC-RNC organised the International Round table Carbon, Capture and Storage – 2020, in Bucharest, on the 12th May 2011, in partnership with the GETICA CCS Demotproject promotors Turceni Energy Complex, SNTGN TRANSGAZ, SNGN ROMGAZ and the Technical Consortium members.

The themes approached by an important international body – Maurice Hanegraaf, Global CCS Institute and Justine Garrett, International Energy Agency focused on important aspects regarding the GETICA CCS Demo Project at global and European level, the legal and institutional CCS framework, other CCS demo projects candidates for the NER 300 European competition
 
The event’s objective was:
 
Co2 Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) represents one of the climate change technologies which contribute to outcome climate change consequences next to Renewable Energy Sources (RES).
 
Developping and putting into function the CCS demo project in Romania will bring significant contribution:
GETICA CCS has the possibility if it will be the winner project in the NER 300 competition to obtain a grant from the European Commission through the European Bank for Investments, representing 50% from the relevant cost,
 
Along with the Ministry for Economy, Trade and Business Environment, at the event attended also ISPE and other representatives from important international companies involved in implementing the GETICA CCS project - Alstom Carbon Capture, Schlumberger Carbon Services and Oxand together with governmental authority representatives, european and international banks with large activity in Romania, the business environment, economic operators, R&D institutions, NGO’s.

Braila TPP - 800MW new power unit

ISPE together with ERM is the Romanian consulting company of E.ON Kraftwerke for the development of the project for a new unit of 800 MW.
