Mrs. ANCA POPESCU graduated from Polytechnic Institute of Bucharest - Energetic Faculty - Power Section and was initially employed at ISPE, beginning with 1965, as project engineer - Energy System Planning and Development Department, then senior engineer - Energy System Planning and Development Department – ISPE. From 1986 till May 2009 Mrs. Popescu managed, as director, the Power Transmission & Distribution Division in ISPE and starting with June same year became Research-Development Department Director.
Mrs. Popescu have relevant experience as Lecturer at the Polytechnic University, Lecturer at the Training Centre of the National Authority in the energy field. As chief scientific investigator at International Atomic Energy Agency Coordinated Research Project in different subjects, she is one of the authors of the microcomputer power system automation invention, expert in power system analysis, investment planning and development studies, power market survey and tariff studies, energy policies, environmental impact of the energy system, integrated resources planning, defence plan and voltage level.
Professional societies and activities in international: UNECE workshop, Energy Division; UNEP/OECD/IEA international seminar; IEA, UNIPEDE, EdF Symposium; Romanian National Energy Conferences; workshops at the Polytechnic Institute of Bucharest; CIGRE - International Major Overhead Transmission Lines Conference; European Parliament Forum; CMEA Symposium. Also is a member of the 37th Study Committee - CIGRE, of the Romanian Society of Power Engineers, Romanian National Committee of CIGRE - President of the Romanian Committee no. 37 CIGRE, Romanian Energy Policy Association, Romanian National Committee of WEC.
