Rehabilitation and modernization of heat supply for consumers in the area CT3 -
Short description:
The investment “Rehabilitation and modernization of heat supply for consumers in the area CT3 - Micro XIV Buzău” has been performed based on a partial financing ensured by a grant offered by the Swiss Government.
The project has been developed as a pilot project of general character and includes the total restructuring of the heat supply solution for an area of urban consumption of 12 MWt.
The heat source, until the project replacement, was a thermal plant equipped with 8 boilers on natural gas; tap water was prepared in the plant and heat was distributed for heating and for tap warm water to 47 blocks of flats through thermal networks made of 4 pipes.
The technical solution set up together with the Swiss consultant “EBP” consists of:
- conversion of thermal plant (CT3) in cogeneration plant by erecting a motor running on natural gas “Waukesha” of 0.68 MWe and 0.85 MWt;
- dismounting of old boilers and auxiliary equipment and erecting two hot water boilers of 5.0 Gcal/h and 2.0 Gcal/h, running both on natural gas;
- the solution of centralized preparing of tap hot water in the thermal plant is cancelled; thermal distribution substations module type provided with plate heat exchangers for local preparing of tap hot water will be erected at each block of flats;
- reconstruction of the entire heat distribution network by replacing the system with 4 pipes with a new networks’ with 2 pipes;
- entire replacement of heating and hot water pipes in the basements of the block of flats.

- Reduction of heat losses from 40% to values below 5%
- Generating about 4500 MWh/year under cogeneration
