Conversion to 400 kV voltage of “Gutinas Bacau Sud – Roman Nord – Suceava” national power system axis
Conversion to 400 kV voltage of “Gutinas Bacau Sud – Roman Nord – Suceava” national power system axis
Short description:
The study aimed at analyzing the opportunity and necessity of conversion to 400 kV some of the 220 kV transmission networks in the northern Moldavia area, an activity that should allow:
- including the 400 kV ring into the national power system, by completing this ring in the northern part of the system;
- developing power transit possibilities from east to west, towards the EU countries;
- increasing supply reliability in the Moldavian consumption area (over 1000 MW).
Supplied services:
ISPE worked-out the Feasibility Study.
Main technical characteristics:
The analyses performed treated three categories of issues:
- modernizing some of the existing substations of the transmission network;
- conversion the line to 400 kV;
- achievement of a new 400 kV substation able to allow
- the interconnection with the Republic of Moldova and to represent a connection for the power injection into the Moldavian area and for the power transit to Hungary.
Estimated performances:
Carrying out this activity makes it possible to obtain some benefits, namely:
- lowering the power losses at the national power system level;
- cashing in the east to west power transit tax;
- increasing the supply reliability of the two deficit areas in Romania, Moldavia and northern Transilvania.
