Biomass recovery for electricity and heat production at “SC EXPUR SA”
Short description
SC EXPUR SA process sunflower, rape and soy seeds to produce vegetable oils. This opportunity study analysed the possibility to recover biomass, after oil extraction, to produce electricity and heat in cogeneration, in order to cover the company electricity and heat consumption. The solutions analysed, considered modern technologies, which burn biomass resulted after processing sunflower, rape and soy seeds. The goal was to produce electricity in condensing steam turbines due to support schemes for electricity produced with renewable resourcesIt was technical and economical analysed, the implementation of two plants: at Urziceni and Slobozia. The optimal solution determined, based on technical and economic evaluation, is:
At Urziceni:
-
1 steam boiler, of 20t/h (35 bar; 340°C)
-
1 condensing steam turbine of 1,5 MW with extraction at 12 barAt Slobozia
-
1 steam boiler, of 60t/h (35 bar; 340°C)
- 1 condensing steam turbine of 5 MW cu with extraction at 12-14 bar
