Turceni TPP – Rehabilitation and modernization of units no. 3 & 6 (2x330MW)
Short description:
Turceni TPP is the largest Romanian thermal power plant operating on coal.
As to ensure units 3 and 6 operation under reliable and efficiency conditions rehabilitation works are required.

- participation to equipment and materials reception including checking;
- monthly reports and documents preparing;
- participation to analyses on site;
- participation to load and no-load tests;
- checking of commissoning and operation books;
- participation to performance and guarantee tests;
- final report preparing.
Main technical characteristics:
- Steam parameters at boiler outlet: 192 bar – 540 0C;
- Steam parameters at boiler outlet: 182 bar - 535 0C;
- Turbogenerator: 330MW / 388 MVA.
Estimated technical performances:
Aims had in view for the two units rehabilitation:
- power and time availability increase;
- extension of unit operating lifetime;
- improvement of environment conditions by reducing NOx emissions;
- implementation of control systems able to fulfil the technical requirements imposed by the interconnection to UCTE.
Technical data of the two units foreseen after rehabilitation:
- Turbine gross specific consumption: 1930 kcal/kWh;
- Boiler efficiency: 88.5 %;
- Boiler minimum load: 40 %;
- Units yearly availability: 87 %;
- NOx emissions at 6% O2 max. 200 mg/Nm3;
- CO emissions at 6% O2 max. 250 mg/Nm3;
- dust emissions at 6% O2 max. 50 mg/Nm3.

Romania / The plant is located on the right bank of Jiu river, parallel to the national road Craiova-Targu Jiu, at about 4 km distance of Turceni town and at equal distance between Targu Jiu and Craiova towns.
