Brăila CHPP – 800 MW power unit
Short description:
Consulting services for the consortium created between e.on Kraftwerke and Enel for the development of 800 MW power unit with supercritical parameters running on hard coal in the precinct of Braila CHPP concerning the Romanian legislation in the field of power facilities and permits and studies necessary to promote the project.
Braila CHPP has been achieved under two stages:
- first stage: 3 x 210 MW.
- second stage: 1 x 330 MW.
Fuel used: natural gas and fuel oil.
The new design includes several arrangement works (demolition of units 4 and 3), cancelling railways in the precinct as well as designs for the extension of the current harbour at the Danube and its arranging for the unloading of coal brought by barges on the Danube (approx. 2000000 t/year – hard coal of 25000 kJ/kg LHV), coal trestle between harbour and coal storage in the precinct, pollution reducing equipment (SO2, NOx, powder), lime handling plant and waste water neutralizing equipment.
Services provided:
ISPE together with ERM is the Romanian consulting company of e.on Kraftwerke for the development of the project for the new unit of 800 MW.
Based on a separate contract signed with e.on Kraftwerke, ISPE has prepared the study for 800 MW power discharging to SEN (National Power Grid).
Preparing and performing documentations as consultant:
- setting up based on modelling of the stack height conditioned by emission concentrations (SO2, NOx, powders) considering the units under operation at Braila CHPP and the polluting sources in the area; the analysis covered a surface with a radius of 25 km around the future stack of the unit ;
- compilation of permits and approvals at Braila CHPP related to their data at maturity, the possibilities of their extension;
- permits issued for construction permits for the two stages of plant achievement;
- permits issued by ANRE (National Agency for Power Regulation) for discharging the power generated by the existing units;
- permits issued by the sanitary authorities for plant operation under conditiong ensuring plant personnel safety and health, measures to be taken in case an accidental pollution occurs;
- mandatory requirements according to the Romanian laws for 4 and 3 units demolition.
